A
rise in audience numbers on Church Square, fantastic performances,
especially Jitsvinger who really moved the crowd. By this time it was
clear that Zozo Mohoto needed to be the MC for the series, he was the
top guy. He has subsequently gone on to become an MC of choice for
events in the Cape Flats through the year.
The Manenberg show was a highlight of the series in so many ways, from
the foodcourt to the free mic turnout to the responses from Manenberg
audience and roleplayers. There were 32 free mic participants alone in
Manenberg.
The People's Centre in Manenberg is not the greatest venue, it is
fraught with political friction. Originally we wanted to stage the show
outdoors, but potential bad weather sent us indoors. On the day the
weather was perfect.
