Goema & Jazz. Hosted by Mac McKenzie, Hilton Schilder and Iain Harris. An exploration into Cape Town's goema music and its cousin, Jazz. Tour3. April 2008. Carnival. Hosted by Melvyn Matthews. A journey through carnival tradition in Cape Town and the making of carnival instruments. Tour4. May 2008. Reggae. Hosted by Teba Shumba, Wakhile Xhalisa and Iain Harris. A dip into the reggae scene with a visit to the home of top reggae artist Teba Shumba, the studio of Wakhile Xhalisa, and the Marcus Garvey Dancehall in Phillipi. Goematronica is the electronic offshoot of Goemarati, an attempt to link the electronic producers of the city to the history and legacy of the city. The project has begun with a series of tours through the city's heritage landscape, and its future. The Cape Town Partnership hosts 12 electronic music producers on monthly tours taking in, for example, carnival and goema history and characters in the city.
