During soundcheck, the management at Spier that were passing didn’t seem quite sure about the constant “droning” coming out of Ronan’s little black effects box. Maybe they thought it was an invasion of the Killer Bumble Bees. Once the drone was explained, people settled and relaxed, and off they went…

It’s a real pity that the mini-disc player was hic-upping on this occasion. We only managed to get 14 mins of the superb fusion of Reza on guitar and Ronan Skillen on the tables. A video-recording would’ve been great, too. Then you would be able to see what words can’t really describe: long, flowing hair, bare-foot, cute Indian cushions and carpets adorning the stage…an overall effect of flying over the Middle East on a magic carpet ride.
