This is Flupke Baert on drums, originally from Belgium. To some he's Napolean, to some he's The Mussels from Brussels. To Joanna Booysen, playing keys, he's Husband.

They bill themselves as the Black Rose Orchestra, which would usually feature also drums, bass, guitar, kora and horns. This performance was pared down for duo, but Joanna does have a sooped up keyboard, modified with bass pedals from an organ, run through a midi machine.

The Black Rose play Mali desert blues in a gypsey caravan. Not that they're in Mali, nor in a caravan. But you know what I mean.
