Akin Omotoso is a young film-maker, originally from Nigeria, and since the early 1990s living in South Africa. His debut feature film, God is African, screened commercially in 2002. He is a partner in the Johannesburg based TOM Productions, producers of the hit TV film Gums and Noses, as well as the TV comedies Sorted and Nomzamo.
